To be served: Lala Laboratory Creations

15 Nov

To be served at FROM THE BED TO THE LABLala works with Düo and the local Paris Department of Chemistry to create a binary concoction of food and drink to be served at her three-day exhibition From the Bed to the Lab.  Together, they have created a collection of duo-aperitifs to mirror the colors and theme of Lala Drona’s paintings. Cocktail concoctionsA team of chemists and food critics have altered the elements of the cuisine in hopes of producing mind-altering effects.  Drink title branstormOnline forums question the safety of these secret ingredients, but Lala Drona has gone on record stating that there are neither toxic nor illegal chemicals in her laboratory creations.  With titles such as “Muse Serum” and “Mile-high Club,” Lala says that the power of suggestion will be enough to send her guests into Lala-Land.

With just over three weeks left before opening night, Lala rushes to put the finishing touches on her paintings and event plans.  Mile-highclub“It’s a lot of work,” Lala says, “but I’m excited to open my universe to the public.”  Only time will tell if the public is ready to receive Lala’s world.

From the Bed to the Lab: Lala’s upcoming exhibition.

Measure

Lala was spotted this week in Paris’ 11th district measuring the walls of Düo, where she’s due to show her work December 11th-13th.  Lala’s exhibition “From the Bed to the Lab” will be a retrospective look at her time in Paris: how the city helped her find her way down the rabbit hole we now call the Lala World.  The three series of paintings and installations Lala has chosen for the exhibition illustrate a persisting struggle to find a place of her own in the world.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that life it just one big do-it-yourself project.  Since that realization, I see the possibilities are endless.  That’s what this exhibition is about.”

Since Lala’s arrival in Paris, she has created her own world, composed of fact-fiction blog entries, paintings, videos and music.  “From the Bed to the Lab” will be Lala Drona’s first solo gallery exhibition in Paris to present this work.  The art pieces are to be accompanied by performances and DJ’s during the night hours (TBA).  Check Lala Drona’s facebook page and stay updated on details about the most anticipated Lala event of the year.

Convicted of Muse Abuse

11 Jul

Lala arrestedDo not pass go, do not collect two-hundred dollars.  News just released of Lala Drona trespassing onto private property while faking a personal tour of the Lala Laboratory.  The artist invited journalists to her underground layer to disprove accusations of muse abuse and torture.  However, the property Lala was showing was a front to deflect the media from her real underground layer.  Embarrassingly enough, the authorities caught Lala in the act (as you can see at the end of the tour video) and arrested her on the spot.  She is rumored to be held on seven accounts of muse abuse and could be in prison for up to two months before she is allowed to post bail.  The media are working with the authorities to unearth the real location of the Lala Laboratory.

Based on a Fact will be the first to let all of you Drones know when Lala leaves the Slammer, but until then, the website will be frozen until all litigations on such a matter are resolved.

Sneak Peek of the Lala Laboratory

17 Apr

With construction of the Lala Laboratory underway, Drones everywhere are trying to get a closer look.  Lala releases a video as a sneak peek at what will be the Lala Lab.  Critics say that the notebook in the video represents the Lala Laboratory… all of Lala Drona’s big ideas in the notebook are to be made reality in the Lala Laboratory.  Music The Big Dream by David Lynch.  See more videos by Lala here.
